The artist whom I purchased this from in Zimbabwe, had kept this master piece and the other museum-quality ironwood pieces in a special room in his house as he was scared that they would be stolen from his outside collection. He was in his late eighties in 2001 and I felt privileged that he trusted me enough to share his story. He told me he started carving when he was about eight years old. I am grateful that he allowed me to purchase his best art of seventy years. In all my travels I have never seen anything even close to as amazing and beautiful as his work. These pieces are true collectors items which will last into the infinite future of generations to come.
