This elephant herd was hand carved from black iron wood. The artist kept this delightful masterpiece in a back room as he was scared it could be stolen. He was in his late eighties in 2001 and told me he started wood carving when he was 12 years old as a way to earn a living.
This amazing, once off collectors item will last into the infinite future and will bring much joy to the art connoisseur.
